question tho... How do I get the grill and hood plate off?

thanx for askin mark , the hood plate is easiest so i will explain it first .

open the hood and look near the center underneath you will see three tabs sticking thru the inside . use a pair of pliers to push those three up thru the hood . you only have access to three but there are five . start at the corner left or right but closest to the windshield get your hand under the platic and lift firmly . the 3 you pushed up and the 2 others will pop out . there are 5 more along the front leading edge , once the back is free get your hand under the plastic and push up and those will pop free . remove any rings on your fingers before starting so you wont damage the hood paint . to put back just line up the 10 tabs with the slots and tap down and it clicks back into place .

the grille is a bit more work but not too bad . there are four bolts that you need to loosen if you are facing the front of the truck you can see two with the hood closed , to see the other two the hood has to be open . once those four are loose you need to look over the front of engine compartment back towards the front you are looking at back of grille , you will see 2 nuts one on each end they are silver loosen those and remove nuts . once those six bolts and nuts are removed you are ready to start at one end just like hood plate pull firmly . there are 2 clips on each end so you have to pop out the ones on one side then the other it is easy with 2 people one can hold the other end after you pop out the clips . dont worrie about breaking them just pull straight and firm and the retainer clips pop right out . to replace just pop in the clips , that holds it in place and then replace the 6 bolts and nuts . the clips are molded into the plastic on the grille and hood plate so mask them off before spraying or tell the line-x guy to tape them for you . i had to clean up one of my clips because the missed it when masking a razor knife is great for cleaning up any gobs on the clips .

i hope this helps check out the adios bling thread it has some of the same info but i was posting as i was doing it here you go
