Re: MPG 20 or not
18mpg on the highway is doable with the auto. Anything this heavy in full time 4wd is not going to get great mileage. But if you check out other 4wd forums (Jeep) you're going to see that 18 mpg is not that bad.
Bottom line all vehicles are a compromise in one way or another.

Re: MPG 20 or not
I got 20.07 on one tank of mostly light down hill coming across CO and northern AZ. Normally I get 16 or 17 on the highway and 14 or 15 in town. Those figures were with the stock 33's. Now that I have 35's my mileage has gone down about 4% after adjusting for the speedometer being off due to the larger tires.

Re: MPG 20 or not
Hello Webster,
I consistently do 20.3 mpg on the hwy. Now have 16K miles. Here are the parameters I have always posted: Automatic, 32" tires, 35# pressure(the door placard says 30# for 32" tires), Mobile 1 synthetic since 3000 miles, at speed limit, cruise control where possible, going 335 miles from Panama City, Fl to N Atlanta, Ga.(which is a flat run)and checked by actual fuel used upon arrival with no city driving!! So I cheerfully inform all H3 fans that GM has done a great job on posting accurate mpg figures!!!!!!!!!!

Re: MPG 20 or not
19,000 miles on my H3 w/auto trannie and 18 is best mileage that I've seen. Usually get closer to 17mpg on the highway at 70-85mph.

Re: MPG 20 or not
During the break-in period -expect about 13 with mixed driving. At least that's what we are averaging.

Re: MPG 20 or not
I have been averaging from mid 12s and 13s with mixed (mostly city) driving. My last tank was mid 14s at 4,750 miles and the usual driving. My MPG has slowly and steadily been going up as I near 5K miles.
