F you! There's a tropical depression forming off the coasts of GA and SC. It doesn't have time to really get big, but the rain is going to be aweful!!

SPECIAL TROPICAL DISTURBANCE STATEMENT
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
228 PM EDT TUE JUN 27 2006
RECENT INFORMATION FROM AN AIR FORCE RESERVE RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT
INDICATES THE AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER IS CENTERED ABOUT 35 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF CAPE LOOKOUT NORTH CAROLINA. WHILE THERE IS A SMALL
AREA OF GALE FORCE WINDS ON ITS EAST SIDE... THE SYSTEM DOES NOT
HAVE A CLOSED SURFACE CIRCULATION... AND IS THEREFORE NOT A
TROPICAL CYCLONE AT THIS TIME. THE AIRCRAFT WILL CONTINUE TO
INVESTIGATE THE SYSTEM THIS AFTERNOON.
THERE IS STILL THE POTENTIAL FOR THIS SYSTEM TO DEVELOP INTO A
TROPICAL STORM AS IT MOVES NORTH TO NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD AT 20 TO 25
MPH. RESIDENTS IN COASTAL REGIONS OF NORTH CAROLINA... VIRGINIA...
AND THE DELMARVA PENINSULA SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF
THIS SYSTEM TODAY AS TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS COULD BE REQUIRED WITH
LITTLE NOTICE. EVEN IF THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT FORM INTO A TROPICAL
CYCLONE... IT WILL PRODUCE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALLY
HEAVY RAINFALL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC AREA
TODAY AND TONIGHT.

The water vapor is moving mostly due north.

Re: Rain, Rain, and more rain
Its OK Ken. Just hop in your truck and drive up here. Its warm, I promise. Tomorrow night is horse shoes at the bar. Thursday is open. Friday we'll begin preparing for the 4'th, and go on the lake. Saturday We'll go get allot of fireworks, then back to the lake. Sunday we'll go on the lake, same with Monday. Tuesday we'll go on the lake during the day fire works til about 11 or so, followed by massive alcohol consumption. Oh and I forgot, during the evenings starting Friday and going through Monday we will be partying.

Re: Rain, Rain, and more rain
Sounds very boring, Carey.
Poor Rocks is probably going to have a nasty drive tomorrow and I hope it didn't rain on them today. They were at an amusement park.
Back Bay is in VB.

Winds cause flooding in Back Bay area
04:09 PM EDT on Tuesday, June 27, 2006
By Dottie Wikan, WVEC.com
Emergency planners in Hampton Roads and across much of Virginia talked about how to cope with more downpours and a weather system that's developing off North Carolina's coast.

The wind tide at Back Bay caused flooding at a low-lying campground at Sandbridge.
"We're looking at two to four more inches of rain," Mark Marchbank, deputy coordinator for emergency management with the City of Va. Beach, told WVEC.com following the 2:15 p.m. confererence call.
He said the next high tide is at 11:26 p.m., so the city will be monitoring the southern part of the city, including the Back Bay/Sandbridge area, for flooding.

Re: Rain, Rain, and more rain
Atleast they haven't done that here... yet....
Winds out of the north are really bad for us. All the water in the Chesapeake Bay gets pushed right to our back door. A hurricane or nor'easter just off the coast is terrible.
