I agree that only the auto's have Stabilitrac. However, I think those of us with manual's can confirm that the "car button with squiggly lines underneath it" is indeed operational. When pressed and held it turns off traction control (confirmed by a DIC message).

Re: Traction control switch not working?
I have a 5 speed and when I push the button a red light comes on and also it says trac control disabled.
When the system is working off road the goes on and off and you can here some buzzing.
The traction control works by using the brakes to slow the spinning wheel acting similar to a limited slip.
The big question is should I have traction control on or off when rock crawling? What would be better to avoid diff breakage
I wish the front end had a real locker that I could control!!

What precisely is the DIC message??
According to Rod Hall, who himself owns a Manual, the ETC cannot be turned off. It is on all the time. BTM is the only way to disable it.
For Dan's Q;
If you are rock crawling, BTM will override the system. It is very important to NOT spin your wheels. Although, it may seem like you would need three feet!

Re: Traction control switch not working?
Something I just thought about...
How can the same button mean one thing in one truck and something else in another???
Doesn't make sense, but then again, I'm not an engineer.
