you should do better than the taco with the H3 in snow. Weight and clearance (unless your taco was lifted, forget about the typically super-optimistic clearance specs published by 'yota) are better on a stock H3 than a stock taco.

in my experience tires and clearance play a role, but shear weight plays the dominant role. hence a big 3/4 ton pickup with extra weight in the box can be a very formidable snow truck, even though it isn't generally a great offroading vehicle.
