Default Re: Removing handles and mirrors?

Put window haf-way down. Remove inside door trim panel; 3 screws, window switches, a bunch of fasteners along the bottom. (Screws are behind the little plastic piece on the inside door pull handle and the little round plastic piece behind the door handle.) Pry up the window switches from the back, disconnect the connectors, grab the bottom of the trim panel and pull it off the metal door. THEN, disconnec the two cables to the door handle, and the electrical connector for the mirror switch.
You then have to remove the glass, real pain in the arse. Then you have access to the outside door handle.
For just a mirror replacment, all you have to do is lower the window all the way, then remove door trim panel, and remove the four nuts holding the mirror to the door panel.
