What's up with the wet spot on the diff, it's not leaking is it?

I just noticed I have a transfer case leak at the output shaft seal w/7k miles on the truck.

As everyone else says...weep hole. But, that is not a muffler, it is a resonator. Muffler is at the rear and most likely has weep hole(s) too.

That's also normal.

GM uses the cheapest seals they can buy. Always have.

Sure, GM wants to purchase the cheapest seals so that their warranty costs go up....makes sense to me. By the way, the seal on the rear axle is not determined by GM, but by American Axle, the manufacture of the axle.

Only seals I have ever had that failed on a GM vehicle are drive axle seals, and they usually fail due to improper installation of the axle at the manufacturing site.
Liquid seals usually fail due to the machine at the plant being out of calibration, or running out causing a skip, and the operator allows the unit to be shipped without tagging for car final to repair before shipment.

The FJs are calling you...
