Hey Phil, when attempting a "snatch recovery" I thought you were supossed to use a sling that was designed to stretch, not a rope tied to the bumper

.

As for doing it at that angle it looks to me he did it so he would be pulling it down hill. I doubt it would have worked trying to pull it straight ahead.
