I installed a safety wire on the air filter so it won't vibrate off.
The compressor does run a little hot but, if it gets to hot it will automatically shut off to protect from overheating (a very nice feature!).

Mine didnt loosened or fall off yet
I will keep my eye on it.

I'm guessing that if you put some plumbers tape on the threads you wouldn't have to worry about it.

It's not the whole filter casing I'm worried about, just the filter cover.

Didn't think of that, it does come off easy doesn't it

Thanks to all for your great tips & ideas, I just installed my MF-1050 without a hitch, glad to now have on-board air.
