I think I found my problem. When I spliced two of the purple wires together on the vehicle harness, I think I used a splice connector that was too big for the wires and was not getting a proper connection. Only time will tell but I've got a good feeling about it. Thanks.

Not sure what the class 2 wires would do, since the aftermarket radio does not require the class 2 signals. Usually, the splicing of the class 2 is to allow the serial data to flow from the Onstar and XM modules.
But, if you fixed it...cool.

When connecting why not pig tail and solder or use wire nuts. They are usually better unless in a marine environment...
