My boat is about 3000lbs. It does ok. One thing that I really wish they'd've put on the H3 was a tow/haul mode. You have to rev the snot out the I5 (something inlines aren't known for) to tow but it does it. If I never offroaded, we would have gotten the Envoy Denali with the 5.3. If they can put a 5.3 in the Envoy, they can put on in an H3. I can't figure out why they thought, on an upscale cost vehicle like the H3, that the I5 would do. Perhaps as the standard engine, but in the Adventure, and the Lux, at least the 5.3. And you're right, it drinks gas like a V8 when you tow.
