Re: Paragon, Sunday 10/15
It was a real good time! Blue, it was a pleasure wheeling with you!
I personally had one SCARY moment...felt like I was gonna go over (started to get sideways down a steep, loosely packed hill). Wound up straightening out no problem and being OK...but definitely got a little nervous for a sec. I think there's a stain on my drivers seat now. Should have bought those seat covers in the "for sale" section
The xterra we were with messed up his front end pretty good. He was using a lot of wheel spin at one point to get through a pretty tough uphill section with ruts and rocks and bent the hell out of his tie rod and some other steering components. BUT he was able to get through the rest of the trails (somehow) and safely made it to the staging area. His rig was SO pigeon-toed up front, I have no idea how he limped out.
The other guys were very cool...it was really nice that they let us hang with their group. The jeeps and modded toyota (cant remember which model...old 4-runner?) did extremely well on pretty much all of the terrain. They were great about spotting us and made us feel like old friends, in addition to making us feel totally welcome, even though we had just met them that morning. Much appreciated!!!
Got a little boo-boo also...rear end slid off some rocks and into a tree. Nice little dent at the top of my passenger side rear door. Oh Well...
Getting a nice check enging light now...bet the evap canister is clogged from the water crossings/mud.
Hopefully we can get some hummers together in the near future!

Yeah, I had a great time as well. You guys are awesome! Hope we get to see you at the Monthly Ride coming up. It was pretty cool when the other guys in the group asked, "Oh, you guys don't even know each other?" "Yeah, we met on the Forum." "Oh, wow."
Oh, that moment was very scary. We were pretty worried about you guys going over. But you survived!
Not sure how that Xterra made it out either. It was not looking so good. But they were a cool group of guys to wheel with.
Now, to the photos! Would have taken more, but the camera seized up right after lunch.

^I was getting a little worried as I was the only Hummer there for a little while.

^Turtle Trail

^Where I got stuck. There was no easy line. One risked body damage, and the other had stupid trees in the way. I think the Saws-all is coming with next time!

^Here comes the peanut gallery, out of nowhere. It's like they could smell a stuck Hummer...

Re: Paragon, Sunday 10/15

^The Jeeps efforts were futile.

^Still stuck

^Starting to get a bit worried, peanut gallery still watching.

^Hung up on the frame.

^Starting to move now, thanks to ScreamingGuitar

^Almost off.

^Over

^A little creek crossing.

^Going up.

What trails did you do? I guess you went Down Turtle in the morning to get out there. Did you come back Up it later? That's always fun when there's some moisture on the trail, and you know how tight those trees are.

Great pics, Blue. Looked like a perfect day to off-road, too. What's that pic on your rear window?
