I just got my new Predator Programmer and was wondering if its ok to tune with regular unleaded? I just filled up and read in the manual that it requires mid/premium grade fuel. I'm not going to run anything but mid/premium after this tank, its just I cant wait to see how this programmer works. My performance upgrades are AFE intake and Magnaflow cat back system. I hope this thing will make me even happier with my H2.

I just programed my truck this weekend and the manual says there is a choice:
Performance Tune: Premium Only
87 Octane Tune: Mid to Low grade fuels
Factory Tune: Regular
I chose the Performance Tune

The Predator programmer is different for the 03 and 04 H2's I was told from the dealer I bought mine from. That must be one of the changes. Could I add something like the 104 octan boost to the tank now? Do you feel a improvement after the programmer upgrade?

There is definite improvement in the shift points which is probably why it feels a little more snappy . As far as actual horsepower, I'm not sure yet. Improved mileage has yet to be seen, although I must admit to stomping on it a little harder lately.
I was also told that there is a difference between the 03 and 04, but I would not worry about putting 104 octane boost in unless your getting some knocking. I ran through a half a tank of regular after programming to the performance tune and did not notice a knock. After the half tank I did start filling it with premium as suggested.

I had the predator programmer installed on my 03 H2 and my fuel mileage went from 14.5 on the highway down to 12. The motor had more git up and go but it came with too much of a price for me. The fuel was not as big of a concern as was the fly by wire gas petal. It seemed I would press down on the gas and have an inch or two of movement before the truck would blast off. I still use it for codes and may one day see if I can get a custom program to fix the gas petal.

Just bought a Granatelli/DiabloSport Predator Hummer H2 Tuner from ebay advertised for "03 H2".

Q1: Any prob/incompatibility if I use it in 04 H2? (Granatelli website doesn't seem to indicate diff product for 03 or 04? )

Q2: Best setting anyone has while retaining 87 octane? (in SoCal, even 87 is above $2.15 )

Thankumuch!
