Actually, this is where they filmed a lot of the movie Armageddon! There are places where it looks like you are on the moon.

Nice pix. That place is on my wheeling wish list. It's only about 6 hours or so from me.

We plan n going back up over President's day weekend. I'm sure we will get up there a few times next year. Let me know if you want to hook up for some wheeling in that area. You can pick up a US Forest map of the Buffalo Gap National Grasslands at the Forest Service office in Wall. Also check on updates as they often have land trades from public/private and vise versa. There is an extremely large area for off-roading and we have a lot of favorite places marked and try to explore new places as we have time. There is some great off roading, but also alot of pasture/grasslands. This is also the area where we shot this on the abandoned rail road route.

Let's plan a trip there. Maybe get in some prairie dog culling.

This place has been on my list for a while too. We tried to get a group to go ovr the summer but it did not pan out. Let me know if you guys head out that way. Throwing in a little prairie dog population control is a good idea DRTY, I really do need to get a long range killing stick. What a perfect excuse.
