Re: Ken...found something for you :)
WOW, KBB only gives a private party value in excelent condition of $44.8K.
Guess that doesnt take into account the rareness of the vehicle though.

Re: Ken...found something for you :)
I think Phil was just using the Calgold as an example since it's very similar in design. But I'll give you credit for at least thinking it was a factory slant at first.
I don't know how valuable they will stay/become. There has to be a market in which they are coveted in order for the value to be there. I'm not sure how big that market is or will become.

If my memory serves me correctly California Gold manufactured AMG's factory SB shells.

Re: Ken...found something for you :)
If someone can figure where in Fairfax it is, I will go by and look at it for Ken. I fly into DC in the morning of the 21st. I have a home in Fairfax and will take pics and post.

Re: Ken...found something for you :)
Well, the wife was on here a while ago and didn't mention this or post up, so I guess she's not interested.
I think the slantback has more potential in the long term for resale because of the rarity, which means I wouldn't wheel one personally. I'd just let it out on the nice days and hope for some appreciation in the future. Sad I know... Actually, pretty pitifull.

I think that, coupled with production issues, caused AM General to halt production after only 40 or so units (some of which were actually reverted into other body styles leaving 37).

Re: Ken...found something for you :)
I remember there being a lawsuit over copying the "look" of the shell. I thought the resolution was that Cal Gold got a contract to build the shells for AMG. I could be off, I have not read up on it for at least two years.
Blue,
There were 39 factory slant backs.
