Vettster - Didn't see the Glacier Blue Edition on the website either. Must be WAY out of date or they don't put the special colors on there?

Htothe2 - I've seen and sat in a few 2008 H2s. I can tell you some big changes have been made. Unfortunately, I can't tell you WHAT has been changed, as I enjoy my job here I hope that sales increase as a result of the updates, I sure like them!

Hummer Guy - We were still painting the glacier blue trucks at christmas time, the red trucks litterally just hit the holding lots yesterday. Now they're all over the place, as in every other truck built is red! I started in the summer as an engineering intern. I stuck around and am taking classes nearby while continuing to work in the engineering offices.

As promised, here's a couple pictures I snapped of the first 2007 Victory Red H2.
In the middle of Trim Line 1

After Chassis Marriage, on it's way to Fluid Fill and Tire Install, then Final Line (where are the doors!?)

There they are! At the end of the Door Build Line! Notice the red X on the hood vent piece, that gets replaced later with the all chrome part, after the truck leaves the plant.

With the bright red paint, those sweet chrome rims, and carbon fiber interior...I think my H3 needs to be traded in for one of these!!

Very nice. Do you know when 2008 production will begin?

IIRC the 07s began being built around August, shortly after our summer shut-down period. I would guess that the 08s will start at the same time.

I was guessing the '07 run might be shortened to get the interior redesign out there and help the sinking sales, but who knows...

Really neat pics man!!

I love watching "How It's Made" on the Science channel...I'd love to see them do a piece on how the H2 is made...

I understand why you can't talk about the 08, I'm also in a similar position. Half the time I can't tell my wife what I'm doing!

With that being said, you MUST tell us about the 08's!!! Look, I'm not going to buy an 07 either way so....

Sweet Pics!

I love that show too! The only one I've seen is the Ferarri 599 plant, but the similarities in the paint shop between the 599 and the H2 are almost dead on! We use the same "ro-dip" phosphate andcoating process, primer is applied just like a powder coating process, the paint is applied by robots in a dust free booth....so on and so on. One difference would be, when the H2 gets painted, the robot actually opens and closes the doors to get to the door jambs and inside. Pretty neat to see in person. In fact, after thinking about it, I really want to put together some sort of slide show of the plant now. Starting at the beginning in the body shop and working step by step to the end of the line. That could be interesting.

Smart move waiting for the next model, especially if you've already got an h2. The 2008 will have its changes, inside and out, but aside from the interior it will be like going from an 06 H3 to an 07 H3....if you catch my drift

Gotta look under limited editions. The fusion orange and the powder blue are the only ones currently listed.

It seems strange that wouldn't mount the chrome vent the first time around instead of scrapping a viable part and doing the labor twice while risking damage to the paint?

Neat pics though! I've toured the GM Fairfax plant and it's amazing to watch flat stock proceed through the presses and end up as a body panel. I'd love to tour the AM General Plant someday.
