Thats how my tranny started going bad. It slipped in reverse and had no power. Took it in because I had just bought it and the fluid was low. Check your fluid and if it is low take it in but don't tell them about the fluid level. I did and all they did was fill it up. They did no other checks. Anyways that seemed to work for a week or so. Then it started slipping again in reverse and from a start. They ended up changing out my tranny because they couldn't identify what the exact cause was. Took them just over a month to do this.

When they dropped the tranny pan it was full of shavings. Some of the cooling lines were clogged up from the shavings so they changed them out as well. The one thing I have learned at least from the lazy bastards here is don't try to sound educated because they will only do the minimal amount of work. Like Phil said tell them tranny slips in reverse and leave it at that. Make them work for it. Good luck.
