Reading more over the past couple days, it appears that they might be separate issues. The acquisition seems to involve only the Chrysler division, which has been hurting badly. The alliance seems to involve GM and Dodge specifically working together to build a large SUV similar to the Suburban. These rumours could be fueling each other, though.Quote:

They "JUST" announced on the news the GM is buying the DeSoto and Imperial Division as of March 1st.
