Not sure why the mileage needs adjusting in all cases. Here is my average mileage last night on my commute home in my Touareg last night, driving a steady 50-60 in traffic:
21.7 mpg.
Sorry about the phone camera quality.
(The yellow light at the top is because one of my turn signal lights is out.)
