Well, I THOUGHT the 'shattering' sound was gone after the dealer re-placed/re-glued both A-pillar mouldings again... but the sound is back. It had been making the shattering sound between 58-64 mph... but that stopped. Now if I go 65 mph, the sound is back. I took a drive out to the desert over the weekend and heard it all over again. I'm going to give up on it and just turn up the XM. It's not worth the hassle anymore.

Well... Here is the Wind Noise fix I got from GM for the Off-Road/Marker lights. It did fix the noise but... oh yuck! The dealer that installed it is calling Hummer tomorrow to see what the heck is going on. The fix kit # they used is 19166037. The tech told me it just consisted of a couple of blocks in the middle to change the angle so it wouldn't make any noise, he also... on his own took it upon himself to put a rubber strip all along the front under the plastic .... and you can see how it makes the edges not flush with the pillar plastic. I can't beleive all this! But oh man look at the back! You can see the 2 blocks they put in there. I don't think I can except this fix at all!

I think mine finally developed this problem. There is a gusting wind sound coming from the curved portion of the door and frame at the front upper left (higher speeds only or in cross winds). I believe it is a door seal or trim problem (perhaps both). How does one remove the external A-pillar trim plate (hood to roof) to check things out and apply 3M tape if necessary?

Thx,
C

pull back the door seal and take the screw out on the A-post cover

Cool Re: Wind noise on new H3

Is this happening to anyone with a straight roof? (no marker lights, no offroad lights, no sunroof) Ive got an 07 and I'm not sure if they have fixed this yes, I want to have marker lights installed but not if they are having all these problems.

Easiest fix for the marker light or off road lamp package is remove the lights and where the inserts are in the roof hit them with A punch and hammer(dont damage the insert) so the insert sits lower(yes, bend the roof tin) reinstall and now you have A much tighter fit.
