Default Front end shimmy! Out of control!

I don't really know what to call this. Shimmy is not quite strong enough for what I experienced today. It was totally out of control!
I have an 06 limited edition H2 SUT. It has a little less than 8Kmiles on it.
Was driving on one of our great streets today (Veracruz) and went to switch lanes at about 25-30 MPH. Got into the right lane and hit some bumps. Well, the front wheels started to shimmy (harmonic) and I almost lost control. Had to slow down and almost stop before it would settle down.
Before anyone asks, the tire pressure was just checked (38psi) and the rims and tires are stock BFG with LE wheels. Being as the truck runs great on a smooth highway up to about 95 mph and I was going so slow today, I don't think it is a balance issue.
I know the front end components are stressed on these trucks but, this is unacceptable.
I know that most of you all are installing steering stabalizers, but if it is this bad, they should come from the factory with them.
Anyone else have any experience like this?

Sounds to me like your steering stabalizer has gone bad(yes your truck has one from the factory) look to see if there is any oil leaking out of your. It is located under the front skid shield.

I had this happen on a Cherokee I used to own. It was violent. As it turns out my Tracking Bar was bent.

It may be the same thing as a Steering Stabilizer and it was very easy to change on the Jeep.

Either way I would take it in and have the service guys do it. It should be covered on your warranty since you have such a low mileage total.

I changed out the stock steering stabalizer for a rancho one. It made a big difference it tracks much better and the truck is much more stable.
