According to GM the cast iron diff will fit all H3's but will only come on the Alpha, the regular H3 will still get the aluminum one(weak point on truck) but maybe you will be able to order one with the diff upgrade?

I love my H3, for wheeling with the family. It goes anywhere I need to take them and does it in luxury. I myself prefer a crappy ride, roll cages, and heavy mods and a jeep is a better platform for obtaining this, or cheaper for that matter. Put it this way I wont take a sawzall to the fenders of my H3. It all depends what you want it for. Traveling in comfort and having the peace of mind you can drive off into the woods when you get there and not get stuck, H3 is perfect. If you want to roll through life playing Mad MAxx like me, a jeep is a good starting point. I dont care for the new 4 door jeeps, but that just my opinion, they look alright with a big lift, but stock, not so much my style. To each there own! Have fun choosing a starting point. This is the fun part of the game.
