Re: Time for New Brake pads
The BS part of it is, I had them inspected at 46K and they still had a bunch of wear left, is it funny that is 6k miles they need to be replaced?

Yes!!But I've had it happen on past vehicles.

Yes and no. Hard to really estimate the time left on a set of brake pads. Personally, I know you have good relations with your Dealer, but a second opinion does not hurt.

Re: Time for New Brake pads
On my 2002 Avalanche with 11 inch rotors on back rear pads were worn out at 45000 km, about 30,000 miles and front were still over half there. Couldn't figure it unless there is some weird biasing with the ABS system. Was first time in my life I ever replaced rear and not front. Usually rear last at least twice as long as front. Re: Time for New Brake pads
For future reference:
15240794 Pad Kit, Frt Disc Brk ? Retail 149.25; trade 111.94;
15240812 Pad Kit, RR Disc Brk ? Retail 137.72; trade 103.29
Pads do not show as being used on any other GM vehicle. So, for the limited number out there, non-OEM pads may not be produced...yet.

Re: Time for New Brake pads
Thank F5 and parts guy....f-off Sewie and Neo
BTW, they offerd me a loaner today...seems as if there MAY be some tranny trouble.
I was telling Sewie when I was following him down a steep muddy incline in Hollister I had it in 1st/low, the truck seemed like it was coasting. When I stopped and put it into second the engine braking returned....so....tranny time?
Makes me wanna :blech:
