Cleaning Cloth Seats
How do you people with the cloth seats go about cleaning them? I dont want to take it to a cleaner, i want to do it myself, but have never cleaned cloth seats before so im not sure how. Anyone have any tips or tricks? Can i just take off the cloth and throw it in the washing machine? doubt it but would be awsome.
thanks

Re: Cleaning Cloth Seats
Most stains I've gotten out with just a wet rag. For stains that are a little worse I use Woolite OxyDeep. You can get it at any store in the cleaning supplies section. I've yet to find a stain that it won't work on. Hope this helped! Good luck!

Re: Cleaning Cloth Seats
1/2 Baking Powder mixed with about 30cc of water. Let it sit on the stain until it dries and becomes hard. Then use a wet cloth and some dove bar soap. This combo is an ole time stain removal remedy that still works quite well.

Re: Cleaning Cloth Seats
I used Oxy spray on mine, let it sit for 5 minutes and use a damp cloth to clean up and it worked great.

Re: Cleaning Cloth Seats
FYI... Solution for GUM
My dog stepped on some bubble gum while walking in the parking lot and tracked gum on several places on my seat. I tried using ice to cool it then scrape it off... It did not work that well. I resorted to using WD-40 and applied it to a rag and the gum came right off.
I went ahead and paid the money $320 for the Hummer seat covers, excellent covers also treated with a water resistant coating.

Re: Cleaning Cloth Seats
do not use oxy or any chemicals. any sprays etc will leave a residue that will attrack more crap. Hot water and a small brush, vac. If you can get get it out let the cargpet guy hit it with his machine after he is done with your carpets.

Hmmmmm.....used OxyDeep several times and never got any residue. Just used a little to get the job done. Looked like new when I was done.

Re: Cleaning Cloth Seats
I got in hot water with a coworker after unknowingly getting pipe dope on the seats of his new truck. Another coworker used the OxyDeep on the stains and got it off 100%. I use liquid laundry detergent and an old tooth brush and have never had a problem with stain removal. Right now I use $20 pullover seat covers from Wallyworld that take all cares away.
