A buddy of mine who has a Canyon has had this happen repeatedly, his is from a bad resistor next to the blower under dash says its a 10 dollar part and 10 min of work, not sure of exact location but says pull 2 screws replace resistor replace screws. I think thats my problem but sounds like yours is worse, mine never clicked just stop then start, good luck
