Default Re: Onstar Red Light

Now for the rest of the story....

So, the other night I swapped out the plastic steering wheel for the leather Lux version. I pulled the SIR and HORN fuse before starting. I put the new wheel on and replaced the fuses. I noticed that the Onstar light was on (what I didn't notice was the airbag light was on, too. For the next several days I rode my old school Yeti everywhere since the weather finally got nice. Tonight, I finally got a chance to take a look a the H3.... When I was buttoning up the leather wheel swap, a friend of mine stopped by with some parts and a couple six packs. We did some work on his Defender in the driveway, had a few beers, and I remembered I hadn't put the fuses back in from the wheel swap. So, I did so on my way in for the night. Turns out I put the SIR fuse in the wrong open fuse slot (the slot I put it into was marked Spare-4). I just pulled the fuse and put it in the correct slot. And, what do you know - my Onstar is working and the airbag light is off. Hopefully I'll put my new torsion bars in the correct holes this weekend... no beers until afterwards. Let the flaming begin!!
