Huck and Ma'Deuce,

Yea I do have the defect of being a bit of a gearhead roadie type. And you guys bring up valid points about how an understessed big V8 gets only slightly lower mileage than the I5 which is forced to run at higher revs via a heavy foot.

But keep in mind that the H3 is true to the Hummer offroad criteria. Putting a large lump of lead (I mean a big cast iron V8) into the front end of a relatively small SUV does terrible things to the overall balance/weight distribution, approach angle, front overhang, etc. But would make a mean bling-bling street sled.
