Default Re: From Land Rover to H2?

I owned a 97 Defender 90 for 5 years and the argument could be made for it being one of the most if not THE MOST capable off road vehicle built for on and off road. It was a tough little truck and never left me sitting. If I broke something, typically it was my fault and any one who knew which end of a wrench goes on the nut could fix it. Then again 40 years of production will tend to perfect a platform. That being said I LOVE my H2 and the 2 vehicles could not be more different. Driving the Defender was, well.... raw... It was noisy, bouncy, really cold or really hot depending on the season ( I did not have a Hard Top)! On the other hand...... My H2 goes anywhere I want to go (As long as the trail is WIDE enough) In luxurious Style and by that I mean that it is as capable as its driver and will take you where ever you want to go along with 4 other people all their gear in a Climate Controlled cabin featuring Sat Nav, Satellite Radio and Heated leather seats.... Do I miss my Defender? Yea a Little...would I give up my H2?..... all i have to say is, they will have to pry my dead fingers from its leather wrapped steering wheel.....

All i have to say is GET RID OF YOUR DISCOVERY NOW!!

I owned a 2003 Land Rover Discovery.
I loved it when it was brand new.
I thought i had the best ride in town.
But it kept having minor problems.
Having the 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty was great.
But as soon as the warranty was up, I started getting MAJOR engine problems.
I spent at least $5,000 in repairs so I got rid of it.
The worst thing about the Discovery was it was too heavy for its brakes.
I treated that thing like a baby and went off-roading less than 10 times.

Now I have a '06 limited edition H2 (fusion orange).
So far so good.
Only 17,000 miles.
BUT I'VE NEVER GOTTEN SO MUCH ATTENTION.
HEADS TURNING EVERYWHERE I GO.
THE BEST SUV I've ever had.
I haven't taken it off-roading yet.
It's too pretty...hahaha!
Having too much fun on the streets.
You can go up the side-walk with no effort at all.
That thing is like a TANK!

And even though the H2 is larger than the discovery,
the turning radius is so much better.
I can make u-turns where the discovery couldn't.
And it can stop on a dime.
Much more pick-up than the heavy discovery.
And I think you get about the same gas mileage, surprisingly.

So... GET YOUR H2 soon!

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO LAND ROVER EVER.
BAD EXPERIENCE FOR ME.

By the way... i need help in fixing my navi.

Does anyone know how to remove the stereo/ac center panel?

I have a pioneer AVIC-Z1.
My installer installed it last year.

But he left out some stuff.
I can't go into night mode and my TV tuner came off-line.
I also want to install a back up cam to the navi even though I have the rear-view mirror cam.

Please help.... anyone?

PS... I have several friends that had Disco's during the period I owned my Defender and they maintained love/hate relationships with their vehicles...Only one of them has kept their Disco, It's paid for and he thinks its cheaper to fix it if (when) it breaks than to buy somthing new. Once you drive an H2 you will never look back. The Truck is so much better than what you imagine. When the Diesel rolls out next year, I'm buying a shiny new one!
