Anyway, I thought the point was to go forward down the trail. Why go backwards? OK, maybe you are wheeling alone and have no forward winch point, but then you are a total retard for getting that stuck all by yourself. I see no real use for a winch on the rear of your vehicle other than to pull other people out, and that is retarded to get one to bail other people out.

You will go the way the trail lets you go. When I get stuck, (Cause I am such a badass/dumbass) I GET STUCK REAL GOOD. I am usually a get myself in get my self out type of guy. I love to help, hate to ask for help. So a rear winch helps out a lot on my Polaris Ranger. I could see its uses on the rear of a H2. I would rather hook up a chain and pull someoneelse out than use a winch if possible. Otherwise, unless you brace your truck, your truck will slide toward the person you are winching out instead of vica versa. You could not leave your truck in drive and pull someone out with the winch that way because you would ruin your winch. If I spend the money on a winch, it is for my needs. Why would I want to burn it up on some other knucklehead when I could pull them out with a two strap.Seriously, if you are so nieve to think that you do not think you could use a rear winch, you need to spend more time wheeling in the woods.
