Re: Want to Buy
Simple...................
go to www.kbb.com
look up the dealer cost on the equiped H-3 you want
only go with factory options
no dealer options
find out what if any close out 07 deals there may be
deduct that from the dealer cost
deduct the delivery charge
dealer set up is a lie
go into the dealer on the last few days of the month
on a tuesday, wednesday or thursday during the 11 am to 3 pm time
and prove your a man !!!

Re: Want to Buy
If you have a basically new jeep that you are trying to trade in, you are screwed. The only way to get the best deal on an H3 is to separate the transactions (sell the jeep yourself), otherwise they'll do whatever they want to with the dollars on paper.
1) Sell the jeep
2) Use the GMID to get the H3 you want
3) watch the kids heads turn when you drive by
Good luck.

Re: Want to Buy
bigger down payment will get that month cost down. Sounds like you should be looking at slightly used.
If you were that frugal, you wouldn't be ditching the jeep so soon.

Re: Want to Buy
Humble Ag, do I know you? I am Aggie class of 96I live in The Woodlands and I guess you are in Humble? What Hummer dealership do you deal with? I assume you bought from McGinnis or Beck and Masten or maybe DeMontrond?
Selling my Jeep is the best bet. taking the $ and pay off the loan take what little I get and put to the H3.

Class of '85. I bought my first H3 at Demontrond. Good dealership, service guys are easy to work with. Paid MSRP because they were brand new and I wanted it. Went back to them to trade for the second one (long story but I wanted a sunroof) and they thought they had me since I bought my first one there. They didn't have quite the right truck or the right price. Beck & Masten had just gotten the franchise and had just what I wanted on the lot (adventure/sunroof), plus they were more interested in dealing. Haven't used their service yet, but I did go to a baseball game Hummer Happening and it was awesome.
Good luck, you'll be pleased with the H3 when you get it.

Re: Want to Buy
Try Ron Carter or McGinnis. I bought a 06 H3 base from Ron Carter, and traded it for a 07 H3 with the adventure package. Both dealers were professional, and very easy to work with. I would buy again from either dealer.
I bought both on the last day of the month. They really do deal to get the sales on that months numbers.

Re: Want to Buy
Here's how I bought my last 3 trucks:
Go to the dealership. Ask to speak with the fleet Manager. Tell him what you want (color, extras etc. Be specific!) Tell him that you have no problem with him being in business to make a profit. Tell him to give you the best possible deal that he can and that you will be shopping other dealers. And, if his price turns out to be the lowest, you will return and not haggle for 1 extra nickel. If you get a lower price elseware, he will neither see nor hear from you again. This puts the squeeze and hassle on him and takes it off of you. Then just relax and watch the fireworks. Stick to your guns, don NOT answer any questions like "What are you looking to pay?" A couple of caveats: 1. I always pay cash for vehicles which is partly what makes this approach work. 2. If you cwan, set up pour own financing beforehand (credit union?) so if you don't like his APR, you have ytour own. 3. Don't just look at your monthly payments! Of course you can't exceed what you can afford monthly, but the APR and number of payments wil affect the total cost to the point where it can nearly double (in a worst casr scenario). Good luck and don't be afraid to tell anyone to Fukk off. It's you money!

Re: Want to Buy
Anyone familiar with Autotropolis.com ? It is similar to True Internet Price.
I checked thru this and it says a 2008 Hummer H3 with Luxury Pkg is MSRP at $27,065 and a True Internet Price of $25,630.69.
The 2007's H3 on the lots around here, the lowest equipped the same go for a window sticker of 34k at lowest and usualy around 36K.
Would a dealer just laugh at me if I brought this paperwork in? I got this from a link off Hummerguy.net website.
I don't have the "gonna pay cash for my vehicle" kind of bargaining power. But thanks for the input tower.

...those prices you pulled off of those sites sound ridiculously low, and I think if you'll show that to the dealer he'll probably quit taking you seriously altogether. Those prices sound more like dealer invoices - if that... I remember while ago I priced some H3's for myself and the lowest deal I could hope for was right around $30k+tax - that would've been barebone base 5-speed model, without any options or upgrades, and I would have to be persistent enough to convince the dealer to order/deliver it for me. Prices on your dealer's lot sound about right ($34k-$36k).
Just my opinion, I maybe be wrong off course.
