Easy Ed.....you are the best!!!! Great step by step on the whole thing! My motors run but just can't move the mirrors so this is just the thing I was hoping could be done.
I had a badass '85 Fiero GT performed a similar fix for the hideaway headlight motors. There was one guy who even made a whole business out of reconditioning the headlight motors from Fieros and Firebirds for non do-it-yourselfers.
