i decided to stay with the gasser engine and fix it. I might even concider getting a 383 long block. I am having a mechanic do everything, I do not know how to all of this that well, lol. Any info you can share?

I'd throw a 383 in there. The gassers were considered to be a bit anemic, so a bit of extra power would not hurt. What else would you like to know?

hmm since I am concidering the 383, maybe some stronger engine internals and maybe a turbo? wacha think?

I think a built 383 is the way to go, something built for torque. If you could get 350 hp with 500 lbs/tq you'd be set. Though a turbo would be cool I think you will run in to far too many issues making it fit. On my TD the turbo is mounted at the rear of the engine in the center of the block, this is because there is no room to fit it in the front. Maybe someone could do it, or a pro-charger??? Either way, I think a built of NA engine could give you enough balls.
