Use 5w-30. I would not use 5W-20 by itself. You can use it in small amounts, mixed with the 5W-30 if you really want to use it up. Straight 5w-20 may void your engine warranty. It is less viscous, and designed for lower temperatures. Thus in higher temperatures, like in the South, it melts like butter (well, not quite, but you get the point). So it depends where you are. In winter, it should be OK. In summer, do not use it.

Put it into a Ford or Honda, some of these are designed for 5w-20. Not worth screwing around with an H2 to save a few $. Or, give it to your neighbor to put into his Prius, and tell him it is great for summer use....
