Re: It's Official No More Hummers
I believe someone will pop in last minute make a deal for Hummer. Like others have said, they are selling quite well in other countries. We will see. Otherwise, yes, it is sad news.

Re: It's Official No More Hummers
If Hummer ends up being finished, will Hummer resale values increase or decrease? That may be the bigger question...

Re: It's Official No More Hummers
That's bad !
But, I don't think anyone will buy the Hummer brand. The focus nowadays is too much on little eco friendly turt cars ...
Well, I'm gonna drive my hummer with pride for as long as I can !!!

You're so right, this tendency for toy cars exasperates me, especially in Europe

Re: It's Official No More Hummers
There's nothing "official"... yet...
March 31st... then it's "official", right now it's "up in the air"...

Re: It's Official No More Hummers
It really doesn't make much difference anymore to US owners, if they are bought out by someone else. The Hummer dealerships are closing their doors. The two keys to sales are marketing and distributing and without dealers you can't distribute the product and in the case of a vehicle maintain it through them.
My Hummer dealer up here is closing shop and getting out of the Hummer business this month and was nice enough to send a letter to his past customers. I did notice yesterday on their website, the three remiaing H2s went up in price as well as the nine remiaing H3s. I haven't heard anything about Sewell, or Penske, but I know Lynch is the only one that has announced he's staying in the Hummer business but at a less expensive facility. It is official, in so far as GM announced it will buyout or close its Hummer dealerships in the US. I'm really not sure what the dealer buyout they announced will entail.
Will the Hummer be made overseas and marketed there? I figure if the Cubans can keep their 1955 Chevrolets running for 54 years, I can do the same with my H2. It's just going to take money and determination.
