Default Re: Are headers worth it?

Bassani ,works well and Dynatech. but unless you have a supercharger or bigger cam and ported heads and a tuned computer the increase will be minimal. cost to power ($1500.00 with cat's ) on a stock engine is not good ,but if you do the mod's down the road headers realy pay off. the exaust alone won't hurt your high milage trans ,but heads and cam with a cumputer tune or a blower will fry your trans quick .if you haven't done a high preformance trans rebuild with a good torque converter yet at 95k ,you might want to do that first B4 engine mods to increase engine output . ya gotta tinker the Bassani ,the Dynatech's are the way I would go . if ya got the $$$$ cash to spend headers are alway an improvement over the stock exaust manifolds .
