Re: Deactivating Traction Controll COMPLETELY
I've heard that you can pull a fuse but I have never looked for the fuse or tried it. If there is a fuse and this method proves to work, there must be a circuit associated with it and therefore you can install a switch inline and manually turn it on/off.
Let me know what you find out

You could remove etc fuse but you will also not have abs and it will set codes. Put the fuse back in and all would work again. Here is the wiring diagram if you wanted to put aswitch in that ckt

Re: Deactivating Traction Controll COMPLETELY
Would this be a code that I could reset by just cycling the ignition 1 time? For example. If I have my lockers both engaged and I go over 20mph. I get a Service 4wd on the DIC. If I flip turn off my front locker and restart my truck the light goes away.
BTW.... I have my front locker set to only work with my rear. In essence they are tied together. And I completely understand why it throws codes when this happens.

Yes. Once the fault is no longer present the codes will go into history and the light will go out. History codes clear after 50 ign cycles i believe but wont affect operation

Re: Deactivating Traction Controll COMPLETELY
Humtech thanks for the heads up!
I don't have my truck right now it?s currently at Rubberduck4x4. So I cant just go out and look into it.
Okay so I want to tap into this wire after the fuse. I am assuming the fuse for the ETC is located in the driver side dash fuse panel? Also can you tell me what color wire is coming out of the back of the panel?? And where it might run too? I would like to find a convenient place to splice a switch into that wire.
I am also thinking that I might try to pull the fuse and get into something sloppy and see how well the truck performs before I go through all the fuss of doing this.
