It has the newer 6.2L and the 6 speed transmission. My last truck was a 2005 H2 and the difference is night and day between the two trucks. The 08 feels very fast in comparison. If you have driven one of the new escalades you would have an idea of how peppy the motor is. It also gets me about 13-15 mpg on the Highway. Where my old truck got closer to 11mpg. Not a huge improvement, but it really makes a difference over the course of ownership (I have ran right at 3000 gallons of fuel through my truck)!!!
