Suggestions on mudding

Mudding affects alot of stuff, brakes, fluids linkages etc. etc. I used to do it alot but after so many things being damgaged by muddy water and dirt over time I just dont do it alot anymore. Here is a pic of how much crap I put mine through.

So you are suggesting not to do it at all or not often?

I trashed my last truck by mudding it. (00 F150 9'' lift) Mudding is great, but hell on new trucks. If you want to keep it nice but still have fun, do some rock crawling, or hill climbs.

Not often unless you have deep pockets!!!

I doubt your be able to get more mud to stick to the steps than snow could. I've had some huge chunks of ice buildup on my steps. I just make sure to kick it off before I close my doors.

I'd probably be more concerned about mud/grit getting in the gear box for the steps than anything. You could pull the fuse on them and make sure to clean everything out before powering back up. Pretty sure the side of the gear box assembly is servicable.

Personally my opinion is buy some POS for couple grand if you want to beat the hell out of it in the mud... Some times when you do **** like that, the vehicle never feels the same.

I agree 100%, I used to have a lifted Excursion which I went mudding in a lot, and it never felt the same..... Plus it sucked azz finding mud inside the door panels and everywhere 10 months later.....

So yeah its suppoer fun, but I'd buy a POS to do it with after all the money i've dumped in mine.
