I've wondered that as well...
...I think at the end they were starting to push the H2 down the Range Rover route. The first time I sat in an 08 I remember feeling like I was in a car...not a Hummer. Don't get me wrong, the interior is nice and feels much more 'quality' then my 05, but too car-like for my taste.

...a little Line-X will toughen that 03-07 interior right up.
