This is a common misconception with many people. It is not necessary to torque your lugs nuts to over 400ft/lbs. Read your manual, only 140ft/lbs is recommended. Unless you plan on bringing your air compressor and impact tools on the trail do you ever want your lug nuts tightened to over 400ft/lbs. Have fun changing a flat on the side of a trail with a 4-way when you cranked your lug nuts that tight.
