Slow down there turbo...

The sentence reads in complete:
You need to hand torque your wheels with a torque wrench or get a real impact air/cordless that actuall has over 400 ft./lbs of WORKING torque with a torque stick to do the job right.

I never once stated to torque your wheels to 400ft./lbs.

Trust me on this comming from a guy who is in the Tool Business (I own a Snap-On Franchise). If you knew what to look for to tell the difference between the quality of tools you would be amazed what you get when you spend more money.

Think about it like this. These are factual stats btw.
Your average working mechanic makes $15-$20/hr.
Your average working mechanic spends $60/wk. On tools that literally cost 10x as much as HF tools.

Why does he spend so much of his paycheck on high quality tools????

Guys I have been to the Snap On Power tool factory in Murphy, NC. I have actually met the AMERICAN employees who take pride in their work. I have seen our tools in real life torture tests crushing the competition. It's real when you spend the extra $$$$ you do not just get a brand name you get what you PAY for!

I can go on and on about this. Now with that said, I'm not saying Snap On is for the average Joe. Snap On tools are for professionals who use their tools all day everyday.

Getting back to the subject..... I would not trust any torque device from a sub-par mfg. to the life of my family..

"Slow down there turbo..." LOL it brings a racing snail picture to my mind

Ok . If we are talking about professional mechanic and Snap on then I agree quality is very important , My father in law is a diesel mechanic and he spend huge money on snap on tools ,

However for someone who may need a tool once a year spending $400 on a impact gun or $200 on a torque wrench he is either crazy or wealthy .Which Im not .I have thousands of things to spend $400 before paying for a tool

My core-drill which I use for work cost me about $3000 but it doesn't mean everyone drilling a hole on concrete needs that expensive tool ..

My torque wrench cost me $29 , break the first time I use it . Got one rented from Autozone to finish the job . replace the wrench under the lifetime warranty , when test it with the autozone($100)tool it was very accurate

I never heard a tire falling off because you didnt torque after using an impact gun ... Any Impact gun will do the right job ...To prove it Im going to take/post a video showing the torque on the lug nuts after using the HF impact gun .

You all have very valid points honestly. Hummin that must be awesome to be a Snap-On franchise owner! When I see those big trucks full of tools I drool at the sight. I would kill to have a garage full of Snap-On products no question about it. Am I a professional, not by any means but I've rebuilt a number of engines, restored vehicles, and do all my own maintenance. I've had the same set of Craftsman tools since I was very young that my dad bought me. I have obviously added specialty tools as the years have gone by and have a pretty large collection of tools.

Now when I do need to add something I always try to find good quality products and I have no problem paying the extra money for the brand name.

At the same time the other guys bring up valid points. I LOVE harbor freight. They are the absolute cheapest for cut off wheels, floor jacks, dremel bits, air hoses, air fittings, etc. Now I do own a few harbor freight air tools such as a die grinder which has lasted years and through a hell of a lot of abuse. My impact gun though is a husky and is a beast. Sure it was more expensive than HF but honestly not by much.

My old man actually uses an electric impact gun and loves it. Me on the other hand I love the power of air tools so that's what I use.
