That is weird

Given my past experiences were with kits off amazon or eBay, not from DDM so I dont know, but I think mine were 35s and I dont ever remember seeing any melting.... So maybe you are right... the 55s do pull too much power and its causing the melting and the burning

So I can see why you switched... and like you said... free.... thats even a bonus.
Have you thought about the projector lights that are out there?
I personally cant see spending a premium on lights. Sure, a hundred or so thats one thing, but not for the premium those lights cost (If I remember correctly) a 100 or more...
Last and Only time I spent that kind of money on lights was on my M3 and they were the Bi-Xenon self leveling. But I also said "sure why not" because it was just another couple of bucks into the payment. Now... with the car in the garage I sit there thinking damn I could have gotten something really nice for that 2k :-)

But thats just me
