Re: The forum has died
It is not on life support yet, but struggling. Over the years just about everything that can go wrong the H2 and H3 and had design defects has been posted. We've seen mods on here from mild to wild. With the Hummer out of production you loose the excitement of all the people with new deliveries and posting pictures of their new rides. When you take your Hummer to the Cadillac dealer to get worked on they treat you like a stepchild. I was spoiled by Jim Lynch and Lynch Hummer. By far the best dealership I've ever dealt with. I will never forget when he handed me the keys to a new H1 while I sat in the waiting room to get lunch while they did warranty work on my H2. Also, the dealer sponsored outings were a ball, and for many owners, their first offroad experience. Everything has to be politically correct these days, and the Hummer was a victim of those do gooders said we were voiding the planet of its precious resource of gasoline. Little was ever said about the nurses I took to the hospital and dialysis patients I brought in during snowstorms in the Hummer when not much was moving on the roads. Then there were those that helped on the flooded streets on New Orleans during Katrina and the Hummers that literally saved Clarksville from flooding even worse than it did........ Mark with his 16 inch lifted H2 with the huge tires that got to areas the National Guard couldn't get to with their Humvees.......

Re: Not dead yet.
I think this is my first post, but I have been coming to this site for a very long time.
To those who have posted and contributed to this site, thank you. I've learned a lot from this site, like what to do and not to do. I hope contribute as well.
I've had two SUTs, and very much enjoyed them (so did my nieces and nephews with the rear dvd systems). Sadly I had to sell them, but I'm looking to get another soon. I'm planning to get a stock SUT and custom build it with a lift, wheels, gears, engine/trans upgrades, and what ever else i can think of.

Re: Not dead yet.
Hello to all,
I've used this resource since our first H2 we bought in 2011.
We currently own NJ H2's Hummer "teh black won't get you back"
My wife absolutely loves it (her rig)
Less H2 owners on the road every year.
I sell vehicles for a living and only see one or two come to the dealership each year.
It's a shame, I was looking at the motor yesterday (have a radiator leak, help!) and was reflecting that it is one of the last power plants in which can actually change the spark plugs.
We are a dwindling generation of owners, sad to say
Thanks to the owners that came before me!

The forum - still alive!
I am still here too! In fact I am going to post a new thread!!
When we bought our first H2 in 2006, this forum was THE forum to come to for help. Classy and helpful forum members. Hopefully it will revive.

Re: The forum has died
I still visit the forum now and then too. My wife traded her 2005 H3 for a 2008 Alpha and she loves it. As many of you know, I'm on my third H2 and this 2007 SUT is going strong and just turned over 130,000 miles. I put an aftermarket transmission cooler on this one and I went back to the OEM BFG tires because the noise from the other ones were driving me nuts. I had the undercarriage and frame steam cleaned and painted in October and had Safelite finally repair the windshield. Between the wife and I we have over 300,000 miles in Hummers and the only major problem I've had is the BCM going out on my '06 and the wife had a wiring issue with her dealer installed back up cam on the 05 H3. So far I've loved every minute of ownership and gas under 2 dollars here, makes it even better

Re: The forum has died
I dont frequent much anymore either, just not much discussion going on. I Still have my 06 H2 with 48k on her. Still love driving its. There is nothing out there that intrigues me for a replacement. Hopefully I'll keep it for a long time to come.

If a company buys the rights to the Hummer Name and starts up new productions there may be hope

Re: Not dead yet.
Bit the bullet last week and traded my 2007 SUT for a 21,000 mile 2009 SUT. My son is still driving my H3 in Dillon, CO , this is my fourth H2. I love the interior and instrument panel on the 2009 and you can feel the power difference in the seat of your pants. My only complaint is that it's hard to rest your left arm on the door panel if you're a tall driver and the seats are a little stiffer. It has the OEM tires but the sidewalls are cracking from sitting in storage for so long, so new tires are on my agenda this week. It was expensive but there's not that many low mileage H2s out there anymore. I put on 1200 miles just bringing it home and had a grin on my face the entire way!

Re: Not dead yet.
Congrats Jim, what color did you get? Post up some pics. I've never driven the upgraded H2's. Nice with low mileage. Are they holding value?

Re: Not dead yet.
Congratulations on your 09. I have loved driving my 09 for all 51,000 miles and plan on it always being in my stable of cars.
