Default Re: Shift lock assembly/solenoid. Stuck in park

Thanks guys. It wouldn't go out of park for a few days, then when I had time to diagnose it worked when I got in the truck the next morning.
Oh well next time

That can also happen with a weak battery.

What's the proper name of the harness needed?

Angry Re: Shift lock assembly/solenoid. Stuck in park

Thanks again guys, I however still have yet to resolve this issue.
So intermittent, happened yesterday and today once again it's working. Got out the schematic and the meter and the damn solenoid is working today. Haven't found any voltage issues to the pin plug as far as broken or damaged wires.with my meter at the solenoid power and ground I played around with the harness and seen no change in the voltage.
Can't wait to get the licked once and for all.

I found the problem. It wasn't a broken wire but connectors that were opened up on the solenoid harness and not making connection on the pins at
times.movement of the shifter back and forth pulls on the harness wires, so this would make sense.
I adjusted all 5 pin connectors with a tool and now have a solid connection on the solenoid.
