Are all Hummer dealers very arrogant?? We have been to two Hummer dealers in Connecticut and they are unbelieveable. The first one had three salesman BSing in the parking lot while we sat in the dealership waiting for some help. They saw us but kept doin what they were doin. After about 15 minutes of looking at the display models we went into the service department and found a salesman that knew nothing about H3s. After the sales speil he asked if we were ready to sign. When we said no, he lost interest and blew us off. Mention trade-in and they frown. The second one was just as bad. MSRP or nothing, no trade in, take what's on the lot. We just wish someone actually wanted to sell us a Hummer we want. Asking too much?

Those guys aren't worth your money anyways. There are plenty of great Hummer stores around the country (many have employees that post here, including myself). There should be some good ones in the Northeast somewhere, I'm sorry that you're having to purposefully find them.

Sorry you are having so much trouble and that I can't recommend a dealer up there. I truely think a lot of Hummer dealership don't care to work for your business because they are the only game in town. Where these two dealerships close to each other or hours apart. I know down here it seems that since there is not another dealer within a two hour drive they don't have to take care of their customers. The not going below MSRP I can understand but no trade-in, what the hell is up with that? Good luck finding a dealer that wants your business. I know they are out there.

Dealerships seem to be very hit and miss. Some are great and others are, just what you said, arrogant. I think some of that is a function of the fact that Hummer dealerships have such a large franchise territory, therefore very little competition. Many dealers know that most casual customers aren’t going to travel 200 miles to get a better deal, so they stick it to you. If you’re after a Ford, you know that there is always another showroom in the next town over - not so with Hummers.
I wish Hummer would crack down on some of the scumbag franchises out there (Medved - Denver, CO) and reward the great ones (White’s Mountain - Casper, WY). I’m always afraid that the bad apples will give Hummer a black eye in the minds of the more casual customers (which Hummer needs to reach, if they are to keep the line healthy).

I have to agree. All the stories I heard, the dealer experience is very hit or miss. Sorry to hear of you bad experience. It's weird to hear the bad stories cause the 2 dealerships I've dealt with were great, especially the one I actually perchased from. I thought the dealer was going to shoot me if I asked one more question but they always had time for me, always went the extra mile.

Hey Iceman,
Sorry to hear you had so many problems with the dealers in CT. I was warned about them before I started looking, so I went to DePaula Hummer in Albany. The Hummer sales manager is Gary, and he will spend as much time answering questions and test driving as you want. The prices are MSRP, but they don't try to stick you with extras. Since I got my H3 in July, they have had a Hummer Happening and this week they are having a welcome party for new Hummer owners. So far I have been very happy with their service.

Iceman would a drive to New hampshire be out of the question. www.dobles.com has about 10 H3 on the lot and they are great to work with.I would ask for Pete Marston the sales Manager before you talk to anybody. They even take trades.

Hey Ice, a friend of mine flew down here to buy from Hall HUMMER. He had nothing but trouble up there, but all positives here. PM me if I can help.

Strike up the band! My salesman called me at lunch to tell me that he is ready to take my deposit. I am interpreting this as car sales lingo for "your order has been placed". BIG MILESTONE. I told him that I would be in his neighborhood on Saturday and I would give him a check. Next task will be to squeeze an order number or delivery date out of him. This is actually MAJOR PROGRESS in my H3 purchasing saga. Dare I start to get excited? I sure hope that the order was correct. Hopefully I'll find out on Saturday.

If he did indeed place the order, you should be able to get an order number from him. If not, I would be concerned.
Next is getting an actual VIN#...then you can track its' build progress!

At Jerry Seiner Hummer here in Salt Lake the service was pretty good, I wish my salesman would have communicated with me a little more, but overall I give the experience two thumbs up!

I would definately travel up there. I responded to their website request for a quote and received a call from their internet manager who sounded astonished that I would travel up there. I told him what I wanted and never heard back from him. I'll give Pete a call. Thanks very much.

That reminds me, did anyone else signup for the email update about the H3 on Hummer.com? I signed up back in March I believe and never received on email. Anyone get any? Just curious.
