No, the 4157 is not any brighter than the stock piece of crap bulb.
Check to see if Sylvania makes either a 3157 or 4157 in their SilverStar line. Those will be much better than stock. Their SilverStar headlight bulbs are awesome and well worth the money. Much cheaper than the POS PIAA bulbs and much less expensive with excellent clean white light output.
