James,
Have you tried having them shaved at southwest brake and alignment off of I35. I have done this with all my truck tires and the outcome has been great. I even had 38" super swampers on my F350 and it rode smooth as glass, but they still made the noise of a 747 taking off.(too aggressive of a tire). I currently have Goodyear MTR on the Hummer and The ride is much quiter and completely smooth. I have gone through all the same problems that you have (trying 3 sets of tires and nobody being able to balance them) then going to Southest brake and alignment and all problems solved. You will be amazed! I have probably done this for at least 6 sets of tires and have always had great reults.
What it does is make the tire perfectly round. Since tires that big are hard to make perfect, it fixes this. It only shaves off the high points of the tire. Then after the tire is perfect they spin balance it on the truck at like 90 mph.
Anyways try it you can then keep the awesome tires that you really like. Your set up was perfect. I would like to do somethig like that but then you have the issues of Parking garages and my garage at home.
Let me know if you need more info.
Scott
P.S. Who did you deal with at The Max? Most likely Billy. He is a good friend of mine.
