I traded in the Sunset Orange for a new Black 05. Lux with a sunroof. With my GM card points and bonus earnings I was able to get $6095 in rebates, a great trade allowance on the 03 and we worked at invoice. All told over $11000 off sticker which I thought was great.
The black interior is nicer than the wheat IMO but the blact exterior I have mixed feelings on. How in the hell do you keep black looking nice?

Check out Griot's Garage for nice cleaning products. Here is a link. I also have a black 05 and had a black Mercedes E class a few year's ago. Black is harder to keep clean, but when it is, nothing looks better! Enjoy!

How do you keep it looking nice? Cover it in mud! Or did you want to keep it "detailed" nice?
How did you get 11K off of sticker.
Ivnvoice is about $4800 off. how does the rest come off? If you do not wish to make this public, please PM me.
thank you.
BTW- where's the pics?
What did they give you on trade with how many miles?

Check you PM.
Well there is plenty of mud here in PA especially this time of year! She is not going to be a show queen for sure but so far I am having a hard time cleaning the black paint. It seems to smear and smudge and show water spots from my chamios very badly.

I had no card points or rebate back in May 04 when I got my new Stealth Gray 05 and mine listed at $66950. I paid $56999 before may 15 04 and it was built may 4 04. I took deliver May 28 04. I caught them with there paints done as they actually thought they were selling Me a 04 as the regular H2 specialist was out so they let a general sales manager for GMC and Pontiac handle the sale. I was down hall when check and paper work hit finance officer desk. Man the finance guy was yelling at sale guys and they actually tried to back out saying there is now they can sell an 05 for less than sticker and I told them I guess they just did and I asked them how many of my cousin lawyers or friends lawyers did they want to meet. It was actually a blast listening to these guys fuss at each other. Well We closed the deal for 05 had everythng except NAV. I have not seen NAV but wonder if I should look into it or buy after market and leave factory dash stuff alone.

This stuff works great on black, no streaking or smearing like most waxes. The key seems to be let it dry completely before taking it off. I gave up waxing black until I found this stuff.

Atleast you got the color right . As for keeping it clean: Don't drive it. Keep it in the garage and a cover over it.
Ah hell, nevermind. Even that doesn't work...
But, damn, it sure looks nice, doesn't it?!

Thanks for the tip on the wax. I'll be sure to try that. I'm not one for details but I do liek to clean my car at leat once per week. Usually a bucket wash. My well water is a little on the hard side and the white mineral deposits look like crap on the black surface.

I have a little black sports car, besides my H2, and the black color is a five minute color. After that time limit, it's dirty!
Best thing is to use detail wax to wipe down the car after a thorough wash. Follow the manufacturers directions of the wax and you will get a car that looks awesome. I use Meguiar's QuikWax. It has carnuba wax in it.
Make sure you use a BLACK ALL Cotton towel. Make sure the threads are cotton and not filment.
A lot of hassle for a car's appearance, but on black, it's well worth the effort.
Then go out and get it muddy!

Depends on the amount of time your willing to spend.
Adams polishes, Poorboys, or Cherry wet wax are all easy to apply and take off, and produce great results, better than Meguirs.
If you have alot of time to dedicate, the try Zaino.
