BAD! Dude! Dude! You should always close the sunroof while it's raining ! You can't leave it open every time you drive it. I know your tall but you have to use the front window once in a while...BIG-C

BAD......Some dealers or service techs assume that when the roof leaks and it has a sunroof that it must be the roof (or drain hoses) thats leaking. Most leaks happen only when it rains hard. So they assume one of the drain hoses must not be draining fast enough, so they check them, if they find a small crimp or bend in the line they think they found the problem, and move on. The same problem occurs in vehicles with no roof like mine. When it rains hard the cab lights lift up off their seal and water leaks in.
Open your door, stand inside your truck, where you can reach the cab lights, grab one in the middle and lift gently and you will see what I'm talking about. It's been a problem with GM for quite some time. The dealer has a solution for this problem, just make sure he is aware, show him what your talking about.
Just some info........thought you might wanna know. Here is a pic........

LOL......we had the same leak problem, was dripping right on the dash. When I saw it I couldn't belive it....I thought what the *#@# ??? It couldn't be leaking.....we have no sun roof. But sure enough it was the lights.
New seal around them....no problems now.

I've had the soaked carpet issue twice! They initially did the drain hose fix and assured me it had been "throughly tested" but the following set of thunderstorms brought another floorboard full of water.

This time after extensive exploration, the service monkeys decided I had a door seal that was fitted improperly. After this was repaired, my truck was returned to me without a wash or interior wipe down. They had left the doors open all weekend and the interior was extremely dusty. There were even visable spider webs hanging from the rearview mirror and inside the ac vents! How's that for service?

On a subsequent visit for an oil change, they forgot to reconnect the vaccuum lines and my Hummer died before I got off the lot! After the lines were reconnected they sent me home after another "thorough inspection" to make sure everything was tip top. Too bad they installed the oil pan drain plug improperly and about 4 quarts drained into my driveway over night!

Sorry for the complaining, The point is my truck won't return to Hewlett HUMMER in Austin TX.

WOW Longhorn.......you need a new dealer !!!
We bought ours at Southwest Hummer. My husband actually discovered the light problem, but so far I have nothing but good things to say about our dealer.

I would Call the big boy complaint line LongHorn! That is totally unaccepable, and they shouldn't be allowed to sell or service Hummers. IMO

I have no leak and we had some serious rain storms last winter. But I also found out those running lights are easy to life off, I leave them alone after that. When washing Hummer, if I accidentally touched them, they are kind of loose. I have no sunroof by choice, but I never heard any running water sound in my A pillars, maybe those drain pipes are equipped with sunroof only.

I have also heard about leaking from the running lights, either through members here or from one of Klaus's many GM bulletins.

Longhorn, don't go back there, not likely they will improve or change on your next visit. Some people don't like their jobs and have no pride in their work or simply too stupid, and as usual, they don't even know it.

Cubby,

Did you get the light problem fixed at Southwest?

I bought mine there too. Fortunately, I have not had any leaks yet. But just in case I do....

Really Z ??? who was your salesman ??

No actually my husband fixed ours.....but the dealer knew about it, told us what to do. I didn't want to spend the time leaving it at the dealer. You know most dealers take forever to do anything. LOL

Just let them know if you have any problems.....they are a great bunch of people and will do what they can to help.

Actually, it was a saleswoman. Jean Williams.

She was really nice.

And you're right about dealers in general taking forever.

If you can hear the water running get to your dealer FAST! I heard mine running and about a week later the leak started. I think the pinch in the line is where you hear the water going through. It's an easy fix but can cause a mess if you don't get it taken care of before a heavy rain!

Nice to have some warning signs.

No water running yet. Then again, I've only had mine for two months and it hasn't rained that much here since.

I assume that a number of the problems (not necessarily this one) that have been discovered on the first models off the line have been fixed on newer ones....Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Sorry about all of your troubles. I'd lose some faith in mine too, if I had all of your troubles.
But in responding to an earlier reply to your post, PLEASE, don't ever go by some bling bling Escalade to replace an H2. That's just plain sick. Exept in the case you never go off-road, in which case you may as well go with the bling bling mobile. I figure, if you have no idea what off-road is, you wouldn't miss the abilities of the H2.

I hope you have no more troubles.

Most of my issues have been taken care of and the dealer has been trying to do everything that they can to get things taken care of..
So hopefully as things progress, all of this will be taken care of and I will return to be a happy person that owns an H2....
