It was designed for an average sized driver as most military items are, designed for the average that is.

I've made this comparison on several occasions. Getting out of my H2 and into the cockpit of the H1 feels the same as getting out of my H2 and getting behind the wheel of a newer Ford Expedition. Even my Denali XL feels more roomy in the driver's seat than the H1. The driver's seat of the H1 feels the same, to me, as the driver's seat of a Jeep. It's like you are squashed up against the door.
